CPS Inc. in the United States seeks a Solvent Based OEM Wood Coatings Chemist with 5-10+ years of experience in waterborne wood coatings. You will develop new products, maintain existing lines, mentor staff, and collaborate with other departments.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or relevant field with 5-10 years’ experience formulating WATERBASED wood coatings.
• Strong formulations chemist with experience taking products through manufacturing and aiding plant support.
• Knowledge of coating systems and application equipment.
• Familiar with additives and their correlations in coatings.
• Experience with testing parameters (KCMA, AWI, ASTM) and interdepartmental communication.
• Ability to formulate colors (color tests to be administered).
• Must understand product differences and their applications.

Looking for a Senior Chemist level individual who is an independent contributor for wood coatings with 5-10+ years of experience.

The chemistries focus on waterborne coating for wood cabinets, wood furniture.

This position will primarily involve developing new products, learning and maintaining our existing product lines and software, mentoring other staff members, and collaborating with other departments.

This position reports directly to the Technical Director.

Salary $75,000 - $95,000

Experience
