Prince George County Utilities Department is seeking a Utility Worker to operate and organize utility tools, equipment and vehicles. The role includes maintaining water and wastewater lines, meters, pumps, and fire hydrants, with emphasis on safety and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, repairs, and record-keeping, plus participation in emergency responses and NIMS training. A Virginia driver’s license is required within 12 months of employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required, related water/wastewater utility experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Operate and organize utility tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater equipment.
• Install/repair water and wastewater lines and meters.
• Maintain records and report issues to supervisor.
• Participate in emergency response and complete NIMS training.
• Identify, locate, and call Miss Utility VA811 tickets.
• Repair/maintain pumps and pump houses as needed.
