Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Permit and CDL License must be obtained within specified timeframes.
• Tank Endorsement required within one year of hire.
• TCEQ Licenses D Water or Collection I within six months; D Water and Collection I within one year.

Responsibilities

• Repairs water and wastewater lines; cleans and inspects pipes; installs repair parts and evaluates effectiveness of repair.
• Installs water and wastewater infrastructure including mains, services, and laterals; taps and meters; valves; manholes; air relief valves; fire hydrants; cleanouts, etc.
• Assists in excavation; operates equipment to break rock and asphalt; uses hand tools to remove dirt.
• Cleans wastewater lines; unclogs or cleans mains & laterals.
• Performs line locates of water and wastewater infrastructure per Texas One Call laws.
• Cleans & maintains tools and equipment.
• Drives dump trucks to haul material for repair and installation; loads/unloads equipment.
• Installs traffic control per state and federal manuals.
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
