Job summary

Hunter Army Airfield is seeking a Water/Wastewater Plant Operator to manage treatment systems and monitor chemical dosing, gauges, and records. You will operate pumps and valves, adjust processes for disinfection and clarification, and maintain logs across both water and wastewater facilities.

This role requires compliance with safety procedures and availability for shift work, weekends, and holidays. The position supports the Ft.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Georgia Water Operator License Class II or higher required.
• Georgia Wastewater Operator License Class III or higher required.
• If Responsible Charge for Wastewater: Class I or higher Wastewater License required.
• Pool operator certification (CPO/AFO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and controls water treatment equipment and pumps.
• Records chemical residuals, turbidity and pressure readings.
• Monitors and adjusts chemical dosing for disinfection and clarification.
• Maintains log of operations and test results.
• Operates wastewater treatment and sludge processes and monitors controls.
• Performs required safety procedures and use of protective equipment.
• Shift work and weekend/holiday availability are required.
