In this role, the Water/Wastewater Technician II leads daily plant operations, monitors and adjusts treatment processes, prepares and submits required regulatory reports, responds to inspections and audits, and provides technical guidance and training to other Public Works staff. The position requires sound judgment, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to make independent decisions that support operational excellence and compliance with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment requirements.
The successful candidate will oversee water and wastewater treatment operations; monitor SCADA systems and respond to alarms; conduct advanced sampling, testing, diagnostics, and process adjustments; maintain accurate operating and compliance records; coordinate repairs and vendor support; and assist with broader Public Works operations, emergency response, and snowplow support when needed.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment operations.
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
