Job summary

Port Ludlow Associates is seeking a Water/Sewer Technician to ensure potable water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment for the Port Ludlow community. You will uphold regulatory compliance while minimizing environmental impact, and communicate professionally with residents and staff.

The role requires 2–3 years of water/wastewater experience, Washington state certifications, and the ability to obtain additional licenses within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience in water/wastewater operations.
• 2–3 years of water or wastewater experience is required.
• State certification for Water Distribution Manager 1 and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator 1 is required.
• Ability to obtain Water Distribution Manager 2, Water Treatment Plant Operator 1 and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator 2 within 12 months of hire.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a class B CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and sewer systems for regulatory compliance and upkeep.
• Maintain wells, reservoirs, transmission, and distribution facilities.
• Oversee wastewater treatment, collection, and related hardware.
• Perform laboratory analysis of water and wastewater samples for process control and compliance.
• Provide prompt, professional customer service for complaints, emergencies, locates, meter installs, and inspections.
• Maintain clean, safe facilities and adhere to safety policies.
