Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of progressive public works utilities experience, with at least two in a lead/supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of water/wastewater maintenance and safety.
• California Class A license within 1 year; multiple certificates required within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate personnel for repair and maintenance of water distribution, wastewater collection, and meter division.
• Provide contract administration and inspection of maintenance projects.
• Oversee crews performing trenching, backfilling, street work, and sewer/water infrastructure repairs.
• Train and evaluate staff; prepare formal performance evaluations.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget and budget estimates.
• Coordinate with other divisions and departments; prepare progress reports.
