Job summary

The City of Elmhurst is hiring a Utility Operator I or II to support the operation and maintenance of water production and wastewater systems. Responsibilities include safe operation, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to respond to emergency situations.

Entry-level to skilled positions available; Operator I requires IEPA licenses and a valid driver's license. On-call rotation and teamwork are essential, with benefits including health insurance and IMRF.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. CDL-A possible within 12 months.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and operation of water/wastewater equipment.
• Ability to read charts, gauges and instrument readings.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain WRF, potable water facilities and lift stations.
• Collect and analyze lab data and adjust operations.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call duties as required.
