Job summary

Parametrix is seeking a Structural Engineer with a strong water and wastewater focus to design and deliver robust structural systems for municipal facilities. You will collaborate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to deliver resilient, constructible solutions while mentoring junior staff.

The role expects a PE license (WA preferred or easily obtainable), 8+ years of consulting experience, and expertise in seismic design.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
Licensed PE in Washington or ability to obtain quickly; SE preferred.
8+ years of structural engineering experience in consulting; seismic design/retrofit experience valuable.
Experience designing structures for water/wastewater or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and support structural design for water/wastewater facilities (treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations).
Develop construction documents including plans, specs, and calculations.
Coordinate with internal and external teams; mentor junior staff.
Support project management tasks (scope, schedule, budget).
Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and presentations.
Conduct site visits and review submittals during construction.
