Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction in Sacramento. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage scopes, schedules and budgets, and serve as the primary client contact, navigating regulatory and stakeholder considerations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• CA PE license or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• 8+ years progressive civil eng. exp. in municipal water/wastewater utilities.
• Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong project delivery from planning to construction support.
• Experience preparing proposals, budgets, reports, plans and client presentations.
• Excellent communication with clients, regulators, contractors and stakeholders.
• Leadership style balancing technical confidence with mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams through full project life cycle from planning to closeout.
• Manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects (treatment facilities, pipelines, storage).
• Serve as primary client contact with public agencies and utilities.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, risk strategies, and QA/QC.
• Provide technical leadership and reviews for plans, reports, permits and construction support.
• Mentor engineers and designers to foster a growth-minded team.
• Support business development through client relationships and proposals.
