Job summary

JHL Constructors in Colorado Springs is seeking a Project Engineer, Water / Wastewater to support the field management team and assist the Superintendent and Project Manager on assigned projects. The role includes gathering and distributing information to team members and subcontractors.

The position emphasizes document control, schedule development, progress tracking, safety documentation, and QC conformance. Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and project scheduling tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or minimum two (2) years of experience in the construction industry.
• Water/wastewater, utility, or heavy civil project experience preferred (plants, pump stations, large transmission/distribution)
• Experience verifying shop drawings and documentation of installation for equipment and process piping preferred
• OSHA 30 minimum and training updates as needed
• Ability to read drawings and understand specifications and perform area coordination

Responsibilities

• Oversees document control: submittals, RFIs, ASIs, change management.
• Manages submittal and procurement tracking for equipment and long-lead items aligned with schedule.
• Supports process piping and yard piping scopes with materials tracking and deliveries.
• Assists Superintendent with safety documentation and CPM schedule updates.
• Participates in QC plan implementation and punch list administration.
• Coordinates subcontractors and suppliers with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Tracks material inventories and verifies delivered/installed quantities.
• Ensures full-time site coverage as needed and manages project closeout activities.
• Participates in budget tracking and pay applications.
