Job summary

Alterman, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Level 1 Assistant Project Manager to support Electrical Project Managers on water and wastewater projects. You will assist with project planning, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, and cost tracking, while ensuring safety and quality.

You will review plans, coordinate with vendors, prepare lookaheads, and help close out projects. Strong communication and willingness to participate in PM training are essential as you grow with Alterman.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include an apprenticeship or two years in a field supervisory role and/or an associate degree in a related field.
• Willingness to participate in Project Management training sessions with assigned PM.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist Electrical Project Managers with assigned project components.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, and assist with schedule preparation.
• Review plans/specifications and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations.
• Maintain material/files, lookahead schedules, and project cost projections.
• Communicate effectively with Alterman personnel and support project closeout.
