Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Mechanical Engineer for full-time work in Lynchburg, Virginia. The role covers design, evaluation, and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater facilities and related systems.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering (ABET-accredited) and 5–10 years of experience in process piping and mechanical systems; proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office is required, with Revit a plus. PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited program (required).
• 5–10 years of experience in evaluating and designing process piping and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; MS Office; Revit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and analysis of water and wastewater facility infrastructure and related mechanical systems.
• Develop plans, specs, and cost estimates for pumping stations and treatment facilities.
• Perform hydraulic analyses, equipment selection, and system sizing.
• Support permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Provide construction administration services including shop drawings review and field observations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
