Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks a Water Preconstruction Director to lead all preconstruction efforts on large, complex water and wastewater projects, from pursuit to handoff.

You will drive pursuit strategy, manage CMAR and Progressive Design-Build approaches, and oversee design development, cost estimating, and GMP discussions. You will mentor preconstruction staff, build owner and designer relationships, and ensure budget control and schedule alignment with contractual requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, with 10+ years' relevant experience.
• Proven track record managing preconstruction for large ($100M+) projects.
• In-depth knowledge of water/wastewater construction.
• Experience with subcontracts and vendor relations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction strategy and cost estimates across design milestones.
• Manage GMP development, budgets, and schedule integration.
