Job summary

DeKalb County Government is seeking a Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance of the Water Processing Plant, three reservoirs, and remote locations including elevated tanks and pump stations. The role is safety-sensitive and subject to drug testing under the County policy.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, prioritizing work, managing repairs and preventative maintenance, and overseeing CMMS data, purchasing, and budgeting for the department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Five years of maintenance/repair experience at water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Georgia driver's license; must obtain Georgia Wastewater Operator license within two years.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff; manages schedules; reviews time sheets; handles employee concerns and performance appraisals.
• Prioritizes and schedules work; ensures resources; inspects work; reports progress to management; updates procedures as needed.
• Manages maintenance of production equipment at the main plant and remote stations; prioritizes emergency repairs to maximize productivity; assigns repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Manages CMMS database; audits equipment usage; analyzes data to improve efficiency.
• Manages purchasing, inventory, asset management, and budgeting for the maintenance department; tracks costs and supplier performance.
