Job summary

The City of Rowlett, Texas seeks a supervisor for water and wastewater operations. Under general direction, you will supervise crews, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across the water distribution and wastewater systems.

You will oversee scheduling, budgeting support, and liaison with the Superintendent while mentoring staff and ensuring timely completion of projects.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED and seven years in maintenance of water distribution and wastewater systems, lift stations, pretreatment/water quality, SCADA, including two years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of construction principles, maintenance of water systems, lift stations, SCADA, and ability to train and supervise staff.
• Ability to prepare records and reports and work with the public and City employees.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, supervises and schedules crews in repair and maintenance of utility water and wastewater systems.
• Requests materials and equipment; assists crews with difficult jobs; inspects work in progress and upon completion.
• Administers department safety programs and enforces city rules; counsels, disciplines and evaluates staff.
• Provides advice on methods; reviews operating records; assists with departmental budget preparation.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and serviced; arranges preventive maintenance and repairs; investigates customer complaints.
• Maintains logs and purchase requisitions; coordinates with Superintendent on delays or problems.
• Performs other duties; maintains regular attendance; fosters professional relationships.
