Job summary

Sugarbush Resort in Vermont is seeking a Utilities Operator to join our Mountain Water team. The role covers operation and maintenance of water and wastewater plants, sewer and water distribution systems, and environmental projects. This full-time, year-round position starts at $20/hour and depends on experience.

Qualified applicants will have 3 years of relevant experience or an AS degree, plus ability to work outside in all weather, weekends, and holidays, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant work experience and/or a minimum of an AS Degree in a related field preferred.
• Good mechanical skills with general knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
• Pump operation/maintenance knowledge is desirable.
• Vermont Grade 1 or 2 Wastewater Certification preferred.
• Must be able to work outside for long periods in diverse weather.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples for laboratory analysis and assist with analyses.
• Calibrate lab equipment, prepare chemicals, run tests, record results.
• Perform water/sewer quality control tasks and ensure health and safety standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting and correcting quality problems.
• Take readings from charts and gauges; control valves and gauges.
• Monitor and maintain plant equipment including pumps, gates, valves, gauges, pipes, and electrical components.
