Job summary

Sugarbush Resort is seeking a Water/Wastewater Utilities Director to join our Mountain Water team. The Director will manage all aspects of Sugarbush owned utilities, ensuring safe operation, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and staff supervision to protect health and the environment, with a starting salary of $70,000 depending on experience.

The role requires Vermont wastewater and water licenses, leadership skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Grade 2 Vermont Wastewater License required.
• Grade 4B Vermont Water License required.
• At least 5 years managing water/wastewater systems.
• Vermont State Lab awareness and hazmat emergency response training.
• Ability to operate pumps, compressors and laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate Water/Wastewater plants, pumps and related equipment.
• Coordinate with Facilities for snow removal and stormwater plans affecting roads and ditches.
• Maintain parts inventory for critical repair components.
• Update maintenance schedules and documentation.
• Ensure permit compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Supervise handling of service line breaks and plant equipment failures.
• Oversee major construction and contractor work and project budgets.
• Develop and maintain operating and capital budgets for facilities.
