Job summary

Muskingum River Watershed seeks a Water/Wastewater Operator to maintain, repair, and operate drinking water and wastewater systems at the Atwood Lake Water Treatment Plant in Ohio. The role requires collecting samples, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting materials purchase for systems and lift stations.

Candidates must have high school or GED plus experience; OEPA Class I licenses are required (or in training) and a valid Ohio driver’s license. Heavy work and on-call hours may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in Ohio and be insurable by MWCD fleet insurance.
• OEPA Class I water and wastewater licenses are required for the Utilities Technician position; for the Technician in Training, candidate must be pursuing or willing to obtain these licenses.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems and related equipment (lift stations, distribution/collection systems).
• Perform daily site visits, maintain plant logs and bench sheets.
• Repair and install pumps and motors, test backflow devices, and troubleshoot lift stations.
