Job summary

Inframark in Thomaston, GA is seeking a Water-Wastewater Treatment Operator to monitor and maintain facilities, operate pumps and disinfection systems, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will collect samples, perform routine tests, and record data while addressing daily operational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred for some locations.
• Valid state water or wastewater license/certification highly preferred, or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
• Previous water or wastewater experience highly preferred.
• Experience with SCADA systems is preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.
• Physical requirements: must lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, and outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, motors, disinfection systems, and other treatment equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.
• Inspect equipment, collect samples, perform routine testing, and complete basic laboratory analyses to support water quality and regulatory compliance.
• Record and maintain accurate operational data, including flow rates, chemical usage, equipment performance, and daily treatment activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting and repairing equipment to improve system reliability and minimize downtime.
• Respond promptly to operational issues and emergency call-outs to help restore equipment and maintain uninterrupted service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment by following established housekeeping and operational standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures to help protect employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
