Job summary

Nemacolin in Pennsylvania is seeking a Water & Wastewater Plant Operator to safely operate treatment systems and manage chemical use while ensuring water quality. You will test, sample, and adjust processes, maintain precise records, and support wastewater operations including filtration and sludge management.

The role requires a current Water/Wastewater license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work a flexible schedule with some on-call emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Water/Wastewater license (Class C or higher)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of water and wastewater plant operations
• Ability to speak English
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings & weekends
• Ability to lift, drag and maneuver heavy hoses and operate large valves

Responsibilities

• Operate treatment systems, valves, pumps, controls, and chemical applications while monitoring water quality and adjusting processes
• Conduct prescribed testing and sampling, interpret results, adjust chemical dosages, and maintain records
• Monitor wastewater flow, gauges, control panels, and test results; manage treatment processes
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and equipment care
• Respond to equipment or building emergencies and adapt to changing conditions
