Job summary

Inframark in Lanett, AL is seeking a Water-Wastewater Treatment Operator to monitor and operate treatment processes, inspect equipment, collect samples, and maintain regulatory compliance. You will work with an experienced team on a 12-hour shift schedule and respond to operational needs to keep systems running reliably.

Licensed operators are encouraged to apply. A valid Alabama Class 4 license or equivalent and a high school diploma are required; CDL may be preferred for some locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related study is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred for some locations).
• Valid Alabama Class 4 state water or wastewater license/certification equivalent is required.
• Previous water or wastewater experience is required.
• Experience with SCADA systems is preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, motors, disinfection systems, and other treatment equipment to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.
• Inspect equipment, collect samples, perform routine testing, and complete basic laboratory analyses to support water quality and regulatory compliance.
• Record and maintain accurate operational data, including flow rates, chemical usage, equipment performance, and daily treatment activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting and repairing equipment to improve system reliability and minimize downtime.
• Respond promptly to operational issues and emergency call-outs to help restore equipment and maintain uninterrupted service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment by following established housekeeping and operational standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures to help protect employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
