Job Function / Purpose

The Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment at small to medium-sized water/wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment, and vehicles.
• Conduct routine testing, monitoring, and maintenance of production wells and facilities.
• Perform and document treatment processes and equipment maintenance to ensure proper operations.
• Respond to call-outs and after-hours emergencies to repair equipment and instrumentation.
• Provide customer service when necessary.
• Ensure facilities are secure and maintain treatment plant grounds.
• Communicate with clients and customers regarding technical operations.
• Coordinate maintenance activities at the treatment facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Willing to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call hours.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of water/wastewater experience.
• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and Water/Wastewater Operator's License specific to the state and site requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet.
• Basic knowledge of water/wastewater operations and electrical components.
• Effective communication skills and professionalism.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 50-60 pounds frequently, access confined spaces, and walk or climb stairs/ladders.
