Job summary

Fleis & VandenBrink is seeking a Water / Wastewater Operations Specialist for Northeast Michigan to join FVOP. You will perform water treatment plant operations, monitor water quality, and respond to system emergencies while maintaining records.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of water treatment experience, and a willingness to work weekends on a rotating schedule. Certification in Michigan drinking water is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant water treatment experience.
• Michigan municipal drinking water certification preferred (F-4/S-4).
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written technical directions.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain high attention to detail.
• Team player willing to pitch in; works weekends/holidays on rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform water treatment plant operations and maintenance.
• Operate and maintain water distribution systems (mains, valves, hydrants).
• Respond to water system emergencies.
• Perform water sampling and monitoring.
• Perform laboratory analysis for water quality parameters.
• Perform housekeeping and facility maintenance.
• Keep accurate records.
