FVOP is seeking a Water / Wastewater Operations Specialist to join our West Michigan team in Grand Rapids. The role involves operating and maintaining water and wastewater systems, responding to incidents, and performing sampling and laboratory analyses.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and be able to work weekends/holidays on a rotating schedule. FVOP offers training and growth opportunities within a staff-focused, employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
• Michigan municipal drinking water or wastewater certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform water / wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance.
• Operate and maintain water distribution systems (mains, valves, and hydrants).
• Operate and maintain sewer collection systems (pump stations).
• Respond to water and sewer emergencies.
• Perform water / wastewater sampling and monitoring.
• Perform laboratory analysis for water quality parameters.
• Perform housekeeping and facility maintenance.
• Keep accurate records.
