Job summary

City of Davenport is seeking a Utilities Service Worker to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s water and sewer systems. You will use the Work Order system, track work orders, and support emergency responses under the Utilities Superintendent.

Responsibilities include assisting with water main and sewer line work, meter installation, and coordination with residents. A valid Florida driver’s license, willingness to work overtime, and the ability to pass a background

Qualifications

• Operates equipment used in utility installation and maintenance.
• Follows safety procedures and respects hazards.
• Reads and interprets construction drawings/blueprints.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather.
• Possesses color vision and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing water and sewer systems.
• Support work on water mains, hydrants, and meters as needed.
• Assist in maintenance of distribution and collection systems.
• Coordinate with staff to install/repair appurtenances and equipment.
• Communicate with property owners about work scheduling.
• Report actions and outcomes to the Utilities Superintendent.
• Respond to emergencies and assist as directed.
• Perform other non-essential duties as required.
