Job summary

DuPage County is hiring a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Worker to join the Public Works Department at the Marionbrook Underground Facility in Darien, IL. The role includes maintenance of water and sewer systems, operation of heavy equipment, and supervising summer staff.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years in water/wastewater maintenance, 1 year of lead work, and a CDL Class A/B with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Orders parts and materials as needed.
• Responds to public water or sewer service requests and emergencies.
• Operates heavy equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders) as required.
• Supervises summer help and assists with project execution.
