Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee infrastructure construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, managing schedule, budget, quality, and safety. You will coordinate with contractors, clients, and internal teams to deliver successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, 6 years of progressive CM experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• At least 6 years of progressive construction management experience.
• CCM certification strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead project teams and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders.
• Solid knowledge of project controls, documentation, and construction administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to build relationships.
• Flexible to changing priorities and deadlines; reliable and dependable.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality to support on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Lead project administration activities such as RFIs, submittals, change management, pay applications, and closeout documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, agencies, and internal disciplines to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Support constructability reviews, value engineering, commissioning, startup, and owner training.
• Maintain and review project documentation and reporting to track progress, compliance, and risks.
• Promote job site safety and oversee applicable environmental compliance requirements.
• Directly supervise construction managers, inspectors, resident project representatives, field engineers, and field services personnel.
• Lead and mentor project staff, supporting team development and effective workload coordination.
• Facilitate startup/commissioning activities, punch lists, and coordination with supporting teams.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, contractors, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings and resolve construction, quality, schedule, and contractual issues.
• Support constructability reviews and value engineering efforts to improve delivery efficiency.
