Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a skilled water/wastewater engineer with hydraulic modeling experience for our New York City office. You will join a team delivering multi-disciplinary projects across the Northeast, supporting flooding impact evaluations, municipal water systems, and wastewater networks.

Responsibilities include planning, coordinating with colleagues, conducting site investigations, and preparing regulatory permits.

Qualifications

• Master of Engineering in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
• EIT certification is required.
• Two or more years of engineering consulting experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering tasks for planning, design, or construction of water and wastewater projects.
• Coordinate technical work with the engineering and construction team.
• Conduct site investigations and water sample collection for water quality and climate resiliency projects.
• Develop regulatory permit applications for flood mitigation and water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work under varying design conditions.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and criteria.
• Coordinate across disciplines to support program management and project delivery.
• Support clients in meeting regulatory requirements and performance metrics.
• Participate in project, client, and team meetings.
• Enhance project-management capabilities as you progress toward leadership roles.
