Job summary

Mott MacDonald Group is seeking a driven project engineer to design and manage water and wastewater projects in the NY/NJ area. The role requires 7–12 years of relevant experience and a PE license in NJ and/or NY.

You will lead a team of junior engineers, oversee planning and design documents, and ensure projects meet technical and regulatory standards. Hybrid in-office collaboration with strong client interaction.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in municipal/private development for water/wastewater design and design review.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or similar).
• Licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and/or New York.
• Strong skills with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or other 3D BIM software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage water and wastewater projects; lead junior engineers.
• Prepare planning and design documents, cost estimates, calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with project managers, CAD staff, and other disciplines.
• Ensure QA/QC reviews and compliance with client standards.
