St. Mary is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support water and wastewater line installation, maintenance, and site work. You will operate loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and related machinery, perform routine servicing, and assist mechanics with major repairs.

This role requires a valid Maryland CDL Class A and the ability to meet safety requirements on construction sites. You may advance to crew leadership and assist billing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and five or more years' experience operating heavy equipment, three years at journeyman level.
• Must obtain Maryland CDL Class A within 18 months and Water Distribution License within 18 months.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and maintain records.

Responsabilités

• Operate heavy equipment (loaders, backhoes, motor graders) to build and maintain water and wastewater lines.
• Drive dump trucks and support project work; assist with major repairs.
• Maintain fuel, oil and parts records; perform DOT truck inspections.
• Clear sites, excavate, install drainage, and seed/fertilize as needed.
• Potentially serve as crew leader and assist Billing for disconnections/restorations.
