Job summary

CITY OF KILLEEN is seeking a Service Worker (W&S) to monitor and control the water pump stations, water storage facilities, water distribution system, sewer lift station, and wastewater collection system. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing components, performing taps, and managing meter work with a focus on safety and compliance.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and may require overtime.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a related trade preferred.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Make and inspect water taps.
• Perform line locating of water and wastewater mains and apparatuses.
• Interpret maps and drawings.
• Monitor pump stations, chlorination systems, lift stations, and storage facilities using computerized systems.
• Prepare daily and monthly operation reports (paper or computer).
• Install, repair, disassemble, clean, and test water meters (residential, commercial, fire hydrant).
• Collect chlorine residual samples and inspect physical security safeguards.
