Job summary

Central States Water Resources is seeking a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician in Bonne Terre, MO. This role supports daily operations, ensuring safe operation of essential equipment through regular inspection and maintenance, while helping maintain regulatory compliance at local, state, and federal levels.

The position involves routine maintenance, equipment diagnostics, meter work, and field tasks with on-site training and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• OSHA safety training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience operating large machinery preferred (backhoes, trenchers, large lawn equipment).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scheduled maintenance at assigned facilities.
• Assess problems and diagnose equipment failures.
• Check the condition of lift stations as needed.
• Pull motors and pumps for needed maintenance.
• Flush fire hydrants and flush-outs for water quality control.
• Inspect and operate gate valves.
• Locate and mark distribution system facilities.
• Install, relocate, and adjust meter boxes and valve cans.
• Exterior maintenance of grounds and buildings including lawn and landscaping.
• Assist with water and wastewater line repairs and other work as directed.
• Always ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
• Submit orders necessary supplies.
• Fulfill customer work orders as required.
• Read customer water meters at assigned intervals in the assigned area of responsibility.
• Maintain a daily maintenance log for regulatory requirements.
