Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Orlando team. The role serves as the Owner’s Representative on utility and infrastructure construction projects, ensuring quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and adherence to design intent.

This on-site position supports water and wastewater facilities with thorough field oversight and documentation. The Construction Inspector will collaborate with contractors, clients, and design teams to ensure safe, efficient execution of

Qualifications

• Strong field documentation skills
• Effective communication with contractors and engineers
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Attention to detail in field inspections
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with submittal review processes
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities is a plus

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project team to support successful delivery.
• Attend progress meetings and document key discussions and decisions.
• Prepare daily reports documenting construction activities, equipment installation, and site conditions.
• Track and maintain project documentation including submittals, RFIs, equipment deliveries, and correspondence.
• Review and monitor submittals related to process equipment, mechanical systems, and materials.
• Perform routine field inspections to verify construction aligns with plans and specifications.
• Observe installation of treatment systems including pumps, piping, valves, and chemical feed systems.
• Assist in observing testing activities such as pressure testing, equipment startup, and functional testing, and report findings to the Engineer.
• Identify and document non-conforming work and support resolution with the project team.
• Assist in reviewing contractor pay applications by verifying installed quantities and progress in the field.
• Support preparation of progress reports for internal and client meetings.
