Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Orlando team. The role serves as the Owner's Representative on utility and infrastructure construction projects, ensuring quality workmanship and regulatory compliance.

You will provide field oversight, maintain thorough documentation, and foster collaboration among contractors, clients, and design teams on underground utility, water, and wastewater projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of construction inspection or RPR experience, preferably on water or wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Exposure to treatment systems such as pumping systems, piping, valves, filtration, or chemical feed systems.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and equipment installation within treatment facilities.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and submittal review processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Engineer as an on-site representative, monitoring construction progress and quality for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Coordinate with construction managers, contractors, and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
• Attend progress meetings and assist with documenting key discussions, decisions, and action items.
• Prepare daily reports documenting construction activities, equipment installation, and site conditions.
• Track and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, equipment deliveries, and correspondence.
• Review and monitor submittals related to process equipment, mechanical systems, and materials.
• Perform routine field inspections to verify construction aligns with plans, specifications, and approved submittals.
