Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is seeking a Facility Operator Trainee to support wastewater treatment facilities including lifts, stations, and the distribution system. You will follow directions from the Field Supervisor and help ensure compliance with water quality standards.

Essential duties include equipment maintenance, dosing adjustments, and conducting routine water quality analyses. A CDL class-B license with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements is required or will be pursued within 90 days, with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ability to read and follow operating instructions.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License; CDL Class-B with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements required within 90 days.
• Candidate must obtain Class-B CDL with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements and pass Water/Wastewater license exam within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at wastewater production facilities and booster stations.
• Operates wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
• Maintains sewer collection systems including mains and pump stations.
• Troubleshoots and repairs service piping.
• Performs routine water quality analyses per procedures.
• Adjusts chemical treatments to meet water quality standards.
• Calculates dosages and ratios as required.
• Completes work orders and updates system documentation.
