Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Facility Operator in Fayetteville, NC to support water production facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and distribution systems. The role reports to the Field Supervisor and involves hands-on operation and troubleshooting of equipment.

Progression is outlined from FO Trainee through FO III with licensing steps (C Well, Grade I/II/III) required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
• Strong preference for licensed water/wastewater operators.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at water production facilities and booster stations.
• Operates and maintains distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines.
• Maintains equipment at wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
• Operates sewer collection systems and pump stations.
• Performs routine water quality analysis and adjustments to meet standards.
• Completes work orders and documents activities per policy.
• Able to travel to Essential Utilities sites as needed and be on-call.
