Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at our Fairfax, VA office. You will work on all phases of civil/municipal engineering including water and sanitary sewer design for local and regional client projects.

The Summer Intern Program provides hands-on project experience, workshops, and a group project with firm leaders, helping you develop technical skills and professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Prior internship experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with CADD is a plus.
• Interest in team-based project work.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

• Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
• Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
