Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer II to join our team. The role focuses on evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques on moderately complex water/wastewater projects.

You will work under senior staff with clients and agencies, coordinating with design teams, and producing design outputs and reports. A Bachelor’s in civil/environmental/mechanical engineering plus 3+ years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related field required at time of employment.
• Three or more (3+) years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or related projects.
• EIT Certification required; PE eligibility preferred.
• Experience with computer applications and design software.
• Familiarity with reading construction plans.
• Experience with water/wastewater systems, water treatment, water distribution, pump stations and operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, hydraulic modeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction on moderately complex projects; review junior staff work for quality assurance.
• Assist senior staff with clients and agencies; coordinate with subcontractors and design teams on project issues.
• Make design recommendations and coordinate with project teams and clients.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
• Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project direction.
• Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications and estimates.
• Work with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Train and assign work to junior engineers.
