We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water team in East Central. As a member of the Jacobs team, you will work on various water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance and treatment planning and design projects throughout the region. This position primarily supports senior engineers and project managers in the growth and delivery of municipal water projects. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, designs, and providing services during construction at municipal water and wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with a long-term desire to grow both personally and professionally. Responsibilities include:

1. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on water, wastewater, stormwater, and natural treatment system design projects.
2. Participating in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
3. Coordinating project tasks with other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group.
4. Completing civil design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work.
5. Assisting in developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
6. Overseeing and mentoring junior engineers.
7. Leading process tasks on projects.
8. Conducting field visits to support construction.
9. Providing startup services to ensure system performance and design compliance.
10. Participating in professional organizations to enhance marketing, industry recognition, and networking, thereby strengthening the Jacobs brand.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years of consulting experience with water and wastewater clients.
• Experience with diverse clients in drinking water, wastewater, stormwater conveyance, and natural treatment systems.
• Understanding of water and wastewater processes and technologies, master planning, and condition assessments.
• Willingness to learn Jacobs’ proprietary tools.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Technical writing and review skills.
• Knowledge of local and state design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Preferred qualifications:

• Professional Engineer license or willingness to obtain reciprocity.
• Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Involvement in professional societies or leadership roles.
• Self-motivated with initiative, demonstrated through professional involvement.
