Job summary

CME Associates is seeking a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join the HMB team in a hybrid role with locations across KY and TN. The successful candidate will assist with design, hydraulics, permitting, and field work on drinking water and sanitary sewer projects.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree, can obtain EIT within 6 months, and have up to four years of water resources experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0–4 years in water resources engineering (internships/co-ops allowed).
• Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of water resource projects including drinking water and sanitary sewer networks.
• Perform hydraulic calculations using modeling software.
• Support permitting with technical reports and regulatory applications.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection for utility design.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, environmental specialists, and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, maps, specifications, contract documents, and reports using AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant software.
• Stay informed about industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
