Job summary

The City of Red Wing is seeking a full-time Collection & Distribution Operator/Assistant Operator in Public Works, Monday–Friday. You’ll help maintain water and sewer systems, operate treatment facilities, and progress toward higher level licenses as you gain experience.

Starting pay is $31.11/hr for Assistant Operator or $34.53/hr for Operator. Position open until filled with a competitive benefits package and a residency requirement within a 40-minute drive of 229 Tyler Road N.

Qualifications

• Must possess Minnesota Class D Water Treatment Operator Certificate and a Class D or SD Wastewater Certificate.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and pass a DOT physical.
• Residency within forty minutes driving distance of Public Works 229 Tyler Road N.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational and maintenance activities independently or jointly with other staff; clean and maintain facilities, equipment and tools, vehicles, and building and grounds.
• Monitor and record facility operations through SCADA and site visits.
• May perform adjustments to treatment plants, lift stations, and reservoirs; operate automated controls as trained.
• Complete laboratory tests, maintain records, and conduct rounds on weekends using SOPs.
• Operate and maintain utility division equipment and assist with locating underground infrastructure.
