Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Water/Wastewater Engineering Interns to join our Holmdel, NJ office for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience designing municipal water systems, reading project drawings, and supporting feasibility, design, and master planning efforts under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related program.
• Previous coursework and interest in potable water and wastewater design work is preferred.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess solid problem-solving skills.
• Must have reliable transportation to the office.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects.
• Read and review project drawings and plans.
• Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD to design: Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities, Pump Systems, Pipelines.
• Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problems with a design.
• Perform hydraulic modelling, prepare design specifications and design calculations, and produce technical reports.
• Support environmental permitting applications and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Participate in internship programming and networking opportunities.
