Water/Wastewater Design Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Type: Full-Time/Regular

Ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms, we are seeking a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer.

Position Summary

Responsible for engineering design in water and wastewater engineering, applying general engineering principles to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist with alternative studies
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and geologic data
• Perform design computations
• Design projects according to client specifications using design software and drawing tools
• Develop project quantities for construction cost estimates
• Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction

Nonessential Functions

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 0-5 years of civil engineering or related experience
• Proficiency in discipline-specific design software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Engineer-in-training certification
• Related experience
• Experience working with local clients at county and state levels

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office environment (95%), with occasional fieldwork in various weather conditions. Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.
