Job summary

Olsson is hiring a Design Associate for our Water/Wastewater team. You will perform complex drafting assignments using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation, supporting project design from concept through construction.

You will work independently and may guide less experienced staff, ensuring designs meet project objectives and quality standards while contributing to environmental impact studies and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in drafting or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Revit.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed design work on drawings and layouts, reviewing project specifications, and performing design calculations.
• Conducts research on various design concepts and techniques and develops approaches to enhance project design work.
• Performs complex computer-aided design assignments and ensures designs align with project objectives and quality standards.
• May review drawings, prepare project cost estimates, and attend client meetings.
• Maintains project documentation including drawings, specifications, and project correspondence.
• Assists in the preparation of environmental impacts or other project studies.
• May supervise, coordinate, and review work for less experienced staff members.
