Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a qualified water/wastewater maintenance professional in Texas to lead crews, perform operating and maintenance duties, and ensure safety and compliance. The role requires a CDL and state licenses, with opportunities to work on diverse field projects.

Responsibilities include installing, testing, and repairing water systems; operating Vactor and related trucks; coordinating with GIS staff; and handling confined spaces as needed. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with two years of water/wastewater maintenance experience.
  • Valid Class A CDL Texas driver’s license.
  • TCEQ-issued Class C Water Distribution and Collection II Wastewater licenses or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, and technical and safety guidance to crew members.
  • Answer questions and provide information to the public and customers.
  • Prepare a variety of reports and participate in daily operations.
  • Install, test, maintain and repair water or wastewater systems.
  • Operate Vactor, wash and rod trucks; assess and troubleshoot sewer systems.
  • Work with GIS staff to upgrade maps; conduct restoration of excavation/repair sites.
  • Perform directional flushing; operate hydraulic and electric valves and GPS equipment.
  • Test and repair 3”–12” water meters.
  • Enter confined spaces, manholes and lift stations; ascend towers and descend into vaults.
