Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform technical inspection work on public infrastructure, private development, and capital projects in the Water Resources Department. You will ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, and codes while documenting field work and communicating findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 5 years of related experience (or an Associate's degree with 3 years), plus a valid

• High school diploma or GED required with 5 years of related experience; or an Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect water distribution and wastewater infrastructure for compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and standards.
• Perform field measurements, calculations, and documentation to support project administration and contract management.
• Review contractor pay requests, quantities, change orders, and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, developers, regulatory agencies, and City staff during projects.
