Job summary

North Alamo Water Supply Corporation in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Crew Helper I for full-time work in the Construction Department. You will assist in constructing and repairing water and wastewater systems and help train other employees.

The position requires a high school diploma, legal driving license, and willingness to pursue Texas licenses. You must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, work 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and be on call 24 hours. CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Self-starting individual with a high school diploma and up to three months of related experience.
• Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Must possess a Texas Driver License and be insurable by the Corporation’s insurance underwriter.
• Willing to work toward Type I Waste Water License and Class D Water License from TCEQ.
• Must have good communication skills and be able to present information to employees and management.
• Flexible schedule: 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and on-call 24 hours a day.
• Ability to work submerged in water and mud to repair/install pipes and meters.
• Must lift/move items up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment on water/wastewater projects or new construction.
• Assist in building and repairs as directed by management and train other employees.
• Locate water lines using probes in water, dirt, and mud for meter installation and repair.
• Maintain and repair equipment and perform general job-site upkeep.
• Follow safety and corporate training requirements and company policies.
