Job summary

Carollo Engineers, a leading water-focused firm, seeks a mid-level Civil/Environmental Engineer to design and manage water and wastewater projects in a collaborative environment in the San Diego area. You will contribute to planning, design, and construction phases, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver robust, sustainable solutions.

The role requires a PE license, 6–12 years of experience in water/wastewater, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 6–12 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and project teams.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering work in water and wastewater treatment facilities and conveyance infrastructure, focusing on site design components (layout, piping, roads, paving, grading, stormwater).
• Develop civil engineering plans and specifications; prepare cost estimates.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables; assist with coordinating sub-consultant work.
• Coordinate work of other engineering disciplines and review contractor submittals during construction.
• Participate in field activities, pilot testing, permitting and alternative analysis; assist with permitting submittals.
