Job summary

Carollo Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced water/wastewater engineer for opportunities in the Raleigh-Durham area. The role emphasizes planning, design, and construction support for municipal water and wastewater facilities.

You will guide technical work, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Applicants should have 6–12 years of relevant experience, a North Carolina PE license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• 6–12 years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
• Experience delivering municipal water/wastewater projects in the Raleigh-Durham market.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina.
• Experience evaluating and designing municipal water and/or wastewater treatment processes, systems, and equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and lead technical assignments for municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Evaluate facilities, analyze data, and develop recommendations.
• Perform process and hydraulic calculations to size systems and equipment.
• Prepare memoranda, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate work across disciplines and subconsultants.
• Manage tasks to meet budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Support permitting with regulatory agencies.
• Provide engineering services during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers.
